“Working Body”
This proposal addresses the reality of modern migration—how migrants are being labeled as criminals, ignoring their fundamental humanity in pursuit of survival. Forced to assume a new identity, they leave their roots and heritage behind. Their name no longer matters; they are reduced to an “Alien” identified by a code.

Forced migration has become a modern form of slavery, though ignored, deeply benefits the society forced to absorb them. In the end, the migrant turns into the engine of a nation’s development and well-being, just as enslaved people once were. They are the workforce that builds houses, infrastructure, harvests the food, and makes the clothes. The humans essentials. Bound to swallow sadness, frustration, loneliness, and nostalgia, they carry these unyielding feelings tattooed on their soul—covered only by the “uniform”tag” they put on every day with deep faith and respect for life.

The interwoven fabric in this work represents the identity , culture, carried by immigrants. The lines are routes woven to the rhythm of migratory movement, marked with stamps like the ones used on passports when crossing borders.
Knitted Containers
This body of work presents a reinterpretation of contemporary everyday objects and containers, rewriting familiar icons through thread and textile.
The project draws a parallel between pre-Hispanic basketry and the containers of contemporary everyday life, examining how the function, material, and cultural meaning of containers have evolved over time.
The work also examines universal modern objects, such as the T-shirt or “Franela,” as symbols of mass production and global culture. By reconstructing these objects through primitive, handwoven and textile-based processes, their familiar forms are removed from the logic of mass production and reintroduced as objects of cultural and material significance.
